Özlem Günyol & Mustafa Kunt
Scenes, photography, video, 2005.

The artists were visiting the borders of Kosovo (Kosovo-Albania, Kosovo-Serbia, Kosovo-Macedonia, Kosovo-Montenegro) and took pictures in the tradition of landscape-photography. Each photograph shows the countryside on both sides of the border. The artists question the mostly invisble nature of borders and their construction. The photographs are complemented with a video that documents the backgrounds of the journey. This additional material counteracts the on the first glance romantic visual repertoire and the focus shifts to the problematic political and cultural frontiers of the Kosovo.
